Back in August, 4 NFL players (Michael Bennett, Malcolm Jenkins, Anquan Boldin & Torrey Smith) sent the league a nearly 3,000-word memo asking for the league to dedicate the full month of November to social activism efforts, similar to what the league already does for military, breast-cancer awareness, etc. "For us, support means: bear all or part of the weight of; hold up; give assistance to, especially financially; enable to function or act. We need support, collaboration and partnerships to achieve our goal of strengthening the community," part of the memo stated. According to ESPN, the memo came after commissioner Roger Goodell met with some of the players who protested after Week 1 of the season. At least we now see demands for real change being made on some of the players' behalf.
