We need your help. Say NO to the Manly SEP by Sunday 22 November

his isn’t about killing off live music or a good night out in Manly. It’s about Council’s proposed Special Entertainment Precinct (SEP), and what it changes for the people who live here.

The short version:

Homes inside a nightlife district. The boundary takes in residential streets such as West Esplanade and East Esplanade, next to open-air venues with nothing to contain the sound.
Less say for locals. With the State’s proposed planning changes, some venues could open without neighbours being notified or able to object. That means the shop next door could become a small entertainment venue, the office building a club, or the car park an event space, without a DA and without you being told. The proposed noise limits are higher than current controls allow, and complaints become harder to make stick.
A different Manly. More late-night trading means more pressure on police, transport and local services. Heritage-listed harbourfront land is included.
Ask Council to refuse the SEP. At the very least, West Esplanade and East Esplanade must come out of the boundary. They are R1 residential streets, and the SEP drags them into the commercial centre’s late-night rules. Homes don’t belong in an entertainment precinct.

Subject: Formal Objection to the Manly Special Entertainment Precinct, PP-2026-1157
A few lines is enough: “I object to the Manly SEP and ask that it be refused. If it proceeds, West Esplanade and East Esplanade must be removed from the boundary.” Add how it would affect you, your name and suburb. Every adult in your house can send one.

The quick poll isn’t a full submission.

If it goes ahead in Manly, other Northern Beaches suburbs could be next. Please share.
