The Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 5 P.M. The purpose of the hearing is to obtain public comment on a grant application to NJ GREEN ACRES for up to a $10 million dollar BEAR exhibit expansion.

THERE HAS BEEN NO SUBMISSION OF A MASTER PLAN FOR THE ZOO TO KEEP RESIDENTS INFORMED AS TO THE SCOPE OF THE ENTIRE PROJECT.  THERE HAS BEEN NO ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT.

The meeting will take place at the Essex County Satellite Office Conference Room, located at 560 Northfield Avenue, West Orange, NJ 07052. The Director of the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs will be available to discuss the project and answer questions. All residents are encouraged to attend and participate.
