"UNITIES" NOT ANIMALS - BURIED ALIVE
The future of thousands of existing stray dogs and thousands of not yet born dogs is now more than ever at risk. "Mega-canili" they call them, huge factories filled with stray dogs, buried alive until their death comes.
"Unities" they call them. Not dogs, not animals. Unities. "Private dogs-shelters" they call them now. The changes to the amendments should delete the limit and allow to host as many stray dogs as possible.
Getting for each dog even 20 Euro the so called "Lords of the dogs" abuse the stray dogs phenomenon for the own gain. No castration or sterilization are planned by the new law. It would kill the business. The protests of the activists in Italy and abroad have been ignored.
What they do not tell us. What they plan to do with the help of the new law is a stray dogs trade with neighbors regions. Stray dogs packed in vans and sent to Sicily. Those who survive the trip, will get locked in cages in the middle of nowhere. Nobody cares if the die or live. Eaten alive by disease, often forced to cannibalism. Isolated. Alone. Crazy. Desperate for a minute of freedom.
Paolo Pellegrino regional counselor of the Region Apulia for the Region President Emiliano, has released a press text a few days ago in which he reassures the MS5 party´s that they should not worry about the law´s modifications proposed by the regional council.
Apparently it is for him just a matter of politics and money. And "unities". But moreover he seems to have a conscience at all. During the past 20 years, thousands of stray dogs have been buried alive, and many thousands more have been bred, to fed the corrupted pockets of politicians, veterinarians, police, majors, volunteers.
None, none at all of the hundreds of millions of Euro from the government, public money, have been ever spent for the well being of the dogs. None.
This is what makes the affirmations of the unashamed Mr. Paolo Pellegrino so frightening.
They will not stop. They plan to increase the business.
