Tilikum was the one who inspired me to get involved and start Blue Freedom. His plea for help lit a fire inside of my young soul and I wanted to do everything I could to help the cause for his freedom—release to a sea-pen. Today, that dream…my dream, and our collective dream for his freedom has come to an end. When I heard about Tilikum’s death earlier today, I was heartbroken, yes… but more than that I was angry. I AM angry still. I am angry that he had to suffer through an entire life-time in a tiny concrete tank, I am angry that shows still continue at marine parks like SeaWorld, I am angry that tickets are still being sold today. I am tired of fighting only to see my dream for something waste away and die in a cement tank, never to be realized. I am sick and tired of every day that goes by that they win and we continue to fight. I want to see this industry—this outdated, archaic, and PROFIT-DRIVEN industry END. Don’t let Tilikum’s death to be in vain. Let it light a flame inside of us to spread the word like never before. Our group (Blue Freedom) is a volunteer student group. Spreading our film Voiceless far and wide takes time and funds. We rely mainly upon it spreading organically. So please, please, PLEASE share Voiceless with ten people right now. Let’s light the world on fire with this message that captivity kills—IT KILLED HIM. And it will continue to kill many more cetaceans to come unless we DO SOMETHING about it. VOICELESS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWg3wA1FloI I will never forget Tilikum. Not ever. He changed my life, and opened my eyes and I will forever be grateful to him. Katie
