Petition updateNo more kids with cancer: clean up the Santa Susana Field LabBoeing sponsors event for ultra-rich, leaves regular folks dying of cancer.

The Boeing Company says the the complete cleanup of the Santa Susana Field Lab, located in greater Los Angeles, would cost too much money. That’s despite the fact that their own data shows that parts of their property are so contaminated that 9 out of 10 people would get cancer if they lived there. We already know of 80 children in our community with cancer, my 12 year-old daughter is one of them.

However, Boeing could still afford to be a primary sponsor of Salon Privé d’Elegance, hosted at the Blenheim Palace, England. Boeing’s booth catered to exorbitantly wealthy guests while they considered purchasing a $98.3M private jet that Boeing advertises as “the planes of kings, fit for royalty!”

Boeing was willing to pay for this extravagant advertising opportunity but they aren’t willing to protect “regular” people living near the Santa Susana Field Lab from toxic chemicals and deadly radioactive waste. Instead, Boeing signed an agreement with the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) that will allow Boeing to leave 95% of the contaminated soil behind.

That’s why Parents Against SSFL is suing the DTSC, along with Physicians for Social Responsibility - Los Angeles, and Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER). Will you help us fund a lawsuit to nullify Boeing's agreement with the DTSC, so we can get the complete cleanup we need to protect our community? If we work together we can stand up to Boeing. Your donation is tax-deductible and any amount would be greatly appreciated.
