I appreciate Mr. O’Hara’s apology, and I hope he recognizes how words can cause real harm. I also value his recent stance regarding the rise in hateful rhetoric directed at the Somali community, including from our highest office. It is encouraging to see his support for protecting the human rights of all communities in Minneapolis.
