Petition updateProtect our neighborhoods from Lipscomb expansionUpdate - Community Meeting Date Set for 6/29
Green Hills Drive NeighborsTN, United States
29 May 2023

The next community meeting, organized by Russ Pulley in coordination with David Lipscomb, will be held on 6/29. More details on time and location to follow. Please make every effort to attend so we can show our support for maintaining the current residential zoning and so you can have the opportunity to ask questions.

We also encourage you to email Russ Pulley (russ.pulley@nashville.gov) to share your thoughts on why the current zoning should be maintained. A few points to include in your email:

  • I am writing to express my concern regarding proposed zoning changes in my neighborhood from residential to institutional put forward by Lipscomb University.
  • This is in reference to three properties on the west side of Belmont Boulevard between Green Hills Drive and Shackleford Road.
  • Belmont Boulevard has always been a clear and natural boundary for Lipscomb's campus, and crossing this main street enters a residential neighborhood.
  • I believe it is essential to maintain the existing residential zoning to protect the integrity, character, and livability of our neighborhood.
  • Applying the overlay could result in increased traffic to our area and ultimately lead to the addition of campus infrastructure built by Lipscomb in what is otherwise a residential block and family neighborhood.
  • As our elected representative, I ask that you take into consideration the impacts of zoning changes to residents of our neighborhood and vote against the proposal.
  • Thank you for your attention to this matter. Your support in preserving the residential zoning would be greatly appreciated by myself and many other concerned residents.
  • Please add any personal touches and include your address in your signature.

Thank you for your support and coming together as a neighborhood!
