Petition Supporters – Quick Update
Thank you all so much for your incredible support so far! 🙏 A special thanks to those than have donated.
- I’ve just shared a new Facebook post about our campaign:
👉 https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1CghWrvM24/ - If you could please like the post, it will help increase its reach and get more eyes on our cause.
- I’ve tagged Andrew Hoggard to make sure he sees the message.
For context, Minister Andrew Hoggard has publicly stated — as reported by Radio NZ and the NZ Herald — that:
“To the best of his knowledge, no health issues had been raised from the consumption of GMO products, such as soya bean, for example.”
He has also supported removing transparency requirements for food labels, which means there would be no obligation to disclose if food is genetically modified.
There are some research links on the Facebook post about the harm GE and pesticide-resistant crops do cause. As a reminder, the two bills we are saying no to propose:
1️⃣ Allowing up to 100 times more glyphosate residues in food
2️⃣ Deregulating gene editing, removing safeguards and transparency around genetically engineered food and farming practices.
This makes our petition and awareness campaign even more crucial to protect our health, environment, and right to know what’s in our food.
Thanks again for standing with us — every action counts! 💚
