NO Fracking in Residental Areas in Cecil PA

NO Fracking in Residental Areas in Cecil PA
The Issue
Unconventional drilling does not belong in residential areas.
Not only does the presence of unconventional drilling decrease property values but it fails to protect neighboring surface owners from potential harm. Additionally, the traffic during fracking process includes sand trucks, water trucks, and chemical trucks running 24/7 in addition to the fracking noise itself which is likened to a freight train. The industry claims these inconveniences are merely temporary to neighbors but in truth they can last upwards of a year or longer should they choose to drill more wells. This petition is not an opposition to drilling - it is an opposition to drilling in residential areas in Cecil township. It is a violation of our constitutional rights to drill in a residential area. We ask that the Supervisors of our township protect the health safety and welfare of its residents by opposing drilling in areas zoned Residential.
