Flagler Live yesterday ran ANOTHER ARTICLE on this ROGUE COUNTY AIRPORT.
They've dismissed us as a "group", insinuating we are just a handful of people, but as of right now we are 521 petitioners and about to get even bigger. We have mailed flyers to the homes in the neighborhoods of this ROGUE COUNTY AIRPORT. Has the AIRPORT or COUNTY ever contacted ANYONE to see how we feel about the LEAD and NOISE from these OBNOXIOUS FLIGHT SCHOOLS? NOPE!
"The county in turn has just as insistently said, for years, that it does not–and may not, by law–control the air space and the noise while dismissing concerns about pollution." The enclosed documents are from DOT and FAA saying the airport is controlled LOCALLY.
Then it mentions the LEAD, going off in many directions...LEAD is BAD, but NOT THAT BAD here? We all know these planes use AVGAS and LEAD IS BAD! There's more documentation about LEAD on the website, PeaceforPalm.com, but they obviously want us to go away.
Kim Carney wants GOOD P.R.? They won't get that with Mr. Seiger and Mrs. Petito. We have made reasonable demands on this petition, which they have continually ignored. They are all well aware of this petition, I have submitted it personally at the meetings, and have yet to get a response.
The Observer ignored my request for an ad in their paper and Flagler Live won't post our comments, only the "just move" and "airport was here first" comments. Trust me, we try.
Theresa Pontieri asked about RAMP FEES (Landing Fees for T&Gs), but that question was completely ignored (see the link in the article). This county could bring in a lot of money if they had landing fees for every touch and go. Seems they just want tax payer funded GRANT MONEY and RAISING PROPERTY TAXES, instead of fining the REAL CULPRITS...EMBRY-RIDDLE and PHOENIX EAST. Carte Blanche to them!
The last sentence of the article speaks volumes, "EDUCATING THE PUBLIC!" No, they are not educating the public, they are trying to SILENCE US! It is only with YOUR signature on THIS petition and YOUR complaints that we are now being HEARD! THANK YOU! And always. PLEASE SHARE!
