The French President Emanuel Macron and other leaders of Western countries made statements, Ukraine should be allowed to use weapons of its allies to “neutralize” Russian military bases used to fire missiles into Ukraine. In response, the Russian President Vladimir Putin warned of “serious consequences” if Russia is struck with Western weapons. 
A few days ago, a Ukrainian attack on Russian Nuclear Early-Warning systems was reported. From an analysis of the Austrian Army Website, this could mean crossing the red-line to a nuclear war.

With the option of risking the use of nuclear weapons, we as scientists and responsible people cannot stay silent: Following the doctrine of Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD), a nuclear attack from any side would unavoidably create responses and retaliations from the other side, and in a very short time could escalate to a full nuclear war, killing and destroying much of human civilization. This is not a hysteric scenario, but is backed up by serious scientific studies.

The Doomsday Clock by the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, which indicates the risks for a nuclear war, has now moved to 90 seconds before midnight. 

We are seriously alerted and afraid, that political leaders are escalating the risk of a nuclear war, obviously being blind to the consequences.

We call upon everybody to speak out loud and clear, this is 

NOT IN OUR NAME and NOT IN OUR INTEREST

We are not in the world to kill each other nor to die in a battle which is initiated by irresponsible and ignorant political leaders. 

We are in the world to make life livable for everybody and to create conditions, where all beings can live in peace together.
