Dear friends

the appeal “No First Use, Never Any Use of Nuclear Weapons” has reached now more than 750 signatures, from people from more than 30 different countries, from all over the world. This is excellent, we are extremely excited about such diverse supporting community.

We are really very happy that so many people, from different professional fields, are supporting the request “No First Use, Never Any Use of Nuclear Weapons”, and it is impressive, that so many Nobel Laureates and other scientists are supporting this initiative. 

We believe that in a time, where this war is still continuing, where more and more people are  killed and more and more people suffer from the consequences of the war, it is important to also warn about the permanent risk of a nuclear war.

It is true, we were hoping for many more signatures, but as the appeal is written in the name of scientists, the number of signatures is already very impressive. Please take any chance to further promote this appeal, anybody, independent of profession, is very welcome to sign and support “No First Use, Never Any Use of Nuclear Weapons”

We will send the appeal beginning of the new year to the UN security council, to governments, and to political parties in order to push for a global and formal “no-first-use” declaration, as a first step towards “never any use of nuclear weapons” and a ban of all nuclear weapons.

We wish you all the best for the end of this year and wish you a good start of the new year, where we hopefully move towards peace and where we can concentrate on steps to solving the very general and serious global climate crisis.

Der Aufruf “No First Use, Never Any Use of Nuclear Weapons” hat jetzt mehr als 750 Unterschriften von Menschen aus mehr als 30 verschiedenen Ländern aus der ganzen Welt erreicht. Das ist ausgezeichnet, wir freuen uns sehr über so vielfältige Unterstützung.

Wir freuen uns sehr, dass so viele Menschen aus verschiedenen Berufsfeldern die Forderung “No First Use, Never Any Use of Nuclear Weapons” unterstützen, und es ist beeindruckend, dass so viele Nobelpreisträger und andere Wissenschaftler diese Initiative unterstützen.

Wir glauben, dass es in einer Zeit, in der dieser Krieg noch andauert, in der immer mehr Menschen getötet werden und immer mehr Menschen unter den Folgen des Krieges leiden, wichtig ist, auch vor der permanenten Gefahr eines Atomkrieges zu warnen.

Es stimmt, dass wir auf viel mehr Unterschriften gehofft haben, aber da der Appell im Namen der Wissenschaftler geschrieben wird, ist die Anzahl der Unterschriften bereits sehr beeindruckend. Bitte nutzen Sie jede Chance, um diesen Appell weiter zu fördern, jeder, unabhängig von Beruf, ist herzlich eingeladen, "Kein erster Einsatz, nie Einsatz von Atomwaffen" zu unterzeichnen und zu unterstützen.

Wir werden den Appell Anfang des neuen Jahres an den UN-Sicherheitsrat, an Regierungen und an die politischen Partein richten, um auf eine globale und formelle "No-First-Use"-Erklärung als ersten Schritt in Richtung "never any use of nuclear weapons" und einem Verbot aller Atomwaffen zu drängen.

Wir wünschen Ihnen alles Gute zum Ende dieses Jahres und wünschen Ihnen einen guten Start ins neue Jahr, in dem wir uns hoffentlich in Richtung Frieden bewegen und in dem wir uns auf Schritte zur Lösung der sehr allgemeinen und ernsten globalen Klimakrise konzentrieren können.
