URGENT ACTION: Moving from Signing to Stopping the Data Centre 🌾👊

Hi everyone,
Thank you to all 18,000+ of you who signed this petition. Reaching this milestone proves how deeply Somerset cares about protecting our farmland and water resources.
Now, we need to turn our numbers into real legal leverage.
Petitions show our strength, but local councils aren't legally required to act on online signatures alone. What DOES bind Somerset Council under strict statutory legal deadlines is formal evidence submitted through Freedom of Information (FOI) and Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) requests.
We have drafted a ready-made FOI demand asking 4 key questions:
1. Complete list of council land & agricultural holdings designated for disposal.
2. Locations and grid references of unleased/vacant Grade 1-3 agricultural land.
3. Current Community Asset Transfer (CAT) policy and outcomes.
4. Account ledgers & expenditure breakdowns for allocated housing/land funds (£1.46M Enabling Project & £108k Traveller Site Fund).
If even 1% of our signers send this today, we force them to put the paper trail on the table.
📋 YOUR 2-MINUTE ACTION STEP TODAY:
1. Copy the full FOI template from our campaign page below.
2. Email it directly to foi@somerset.gov.uk (or via WhatDoTheyKnow.com).

Signing got us on the map. Submitting your FOI is how we win.
Thank you for standing up for Somerset! 🛡️🌾
