Cathy Chin and Board of Directors of Alliance for the Betterment of Citizens with Disabilities (ABCD) have opposed the Billy Cray's Law for the following reasons:

1. "There is no factual evidence that cameras in group homes make people more safe."
2. "This could lead predators to the darkest corners of the house to abuse residents."
3. "One of ABCD's goals is to humanize the developmentally disabled and this bill does not do this cameras would be a step back for autonomy."
4. "The-hacking-of-cameras-issue."
5. "We do not like the beginning of the proposed bill which states there is currently no oversight in group homes."
6. "What if a resident agrees to have cameras in common areas, then a year later does not want them - what then?"

As a mother who’s son was a victim of institutional abuse for 25 years, and who has now been dead for 4 years after being found in an institution - There you have it.

The Advocates of the Billy Cray's Law will stand strong to keep the language as is in the bill.
