Senator Steve Sweeney,

This past Friday August 27 2021, was the 4 year Anniversary my developmentally disabled son Billy Cray who was found dead on floor of his closet. I spent the day vomiting and crying. Me and my husband who was a stroke patient fighting cancer and heart disease, were awoken 9 am in the morning of Sunday Aug 27th 2017 to tell us our son was found dead inside and on floor. Euclid Group Home Somers Point NJ., run by Devereux NJ, funded by the State of NJ. My late husband Stuart Cray cried himself to death and died January 20, 2018.

Billy endured so much abuse, photos were sent to me by former Group Home Manager. Olynda Constantine was my son's angel along with Jessica Gustafson. Jessica Gustafson witnessed abuse by Devereux Staff, she was shushed by the upper management at Devereux of NJ.

Senator Sweeney, you have your special needs daughter to tuck her in at night. I only have my son's clothes and picture to hug and kiss at night. I cry myself at night every night with grief. Yet you, in my opinion protect the groups that sweep abuse under the rug…… My Question is, what if this was your daughter?

You claim after the birth of your special needs daughter, you entered into the life of protecting your baby of special needs daughter. Your daughter's breathing, my son is not. Stop allowing lobbyists to control you from protecting our most vulnerable. We the families of the developmentally disabled NJ, are your voters.

Do the right thing Senator. Please Pass Billy Cray's Bill Choice of Camera A 4013/S 3301 into Law. A bill you were once in favor of. You told us in a meeting in Trenton that you felt Surveillance should have audio. What changed your mind? This Law will not bring back my son, but will save the lives of others.

Think about that.
