It is a sad fact that Miiverse will undoubtedly close next week. However I refuse to stop trying to get some response from Nintendo and will continue to run this petition and see what can be done for the future. If this petition ever reaches 10,000 I will send it afresh and again as sufficient benchmarks are reached. I’ve just emailed Nintendo of America and Europe with the following (I’ve deleted my name from this copy) and I will let you know their response “My name is €$¥$€¥¥$€ but for the last 5 years I’ve been known by two other names. That is by two Nintendo Network ID, Dj-Pickle and JukeboxDraw. The latter being an art event I have hosted. I write today to try to get some response on behalf of the 5000+ people who have signed a petition to save the Miiverse application for the future. I think Miiverse has been one of the single greatest innovations on a modern console and is heralded by so many as being the best social media site ever. Many refusing to use other sites such as Facebook or twitter or Instagram. People have invested time and energy into it and built great friendships, but now, inexplicably Nintendo are pulling the plug on the service. The problem is that the majority of its users are huge Nintendo fans, people who have stuck by Nintendo during one of their hardest times (particularly the WiiU owners) and they have spent a large amount of their money on buying the games and consoles.the Although Miiverse doesn’t, on paper at least, generate much income what cannot be so easily quantified is how many people have bought software (both physical and digital) and consoles based solely on what they’ve observed on Miiverse. Personally I can name several titles! Then of course there is the software integration and the contact with games producers that has been possible. In short, Miiverse has been a fabulous place to be. Take a look at the continuing petition at Sign the Petition Sign the Petition Nintendo: Save Miiverse (a Link was included here to this petition) Read some of the comments. Your loyal fans deserve a better reason as to why Miiverse is closing and they would like you to know heir wish that it be continued into the future on existing and planned consoles. Many have already bemoaned the absence of Miiverse on the Switch console and I can certainly add that my delay in purchasing one has been due to the absence of Miiverse on it. There’s also the community projects that have taken place on Miiverse, what great value they have. I have hosted an art event called Jukebox Draw, where participants have listened to music and the been inspired to create art based on it. This has been taking place within Miiverse for well over 3 years and has been done so in a way to enhance and contribute to the Miiverse experience. Not for personal gain or benefit but to give back to the community that I’ve discovered there. Sub communities like this will perhaps migrate elsewhere but nowhere else is like Miiverse. Please engage in a discussion with your fans, please see the benefits to your own company, please reconsider the closure of Miiverse and it’s future with your consoles. The petition will continue.
