I'm sick of seeing "Waluigi in Smash" petitions. As far as minor Mario characters who mainly appear in spinoff games go, Switch-era Nintendo seems to have a thing for Toadette. Toadette appeared as an NPC in Mario Odyssey, is playable in NSMBU Deluxe, and (if the promo art is to be believed) will also be playable in Mario Maker 2. She has a much stronger case for representation than Waluigi does, and the addition of Daisy and Piranha Plant (both minor characters) is further evidence that Toadette would be a good fit to be the next Mario-series fighter.
