Well it's pretty clear now that Nintendo WILL NOT add virtual console to the Nintendo switch, instead they make you pay for their online service in order to play classic games (fair enough I guess). Unfortunately, the current library is pretty short, and consists only of NES games. But that's not even the worst part. I think it goes without saying that one of the very first things that came to everyone's mind when they heard about the Nintendo Switch was being able to play the cult classic RPG game Earthbound! You would be able to play it on your TV and on the go! A dream come true, right? Just wait for Earthbound to be put on the virtual console and you're all set!... Well, as I already said, virtual console is probably never coming to the Switch. I'm not so much disappointed in that, as I'm more disappointed by the thought that we might never be able to play Earthbound on the switch! I know the classic games library is (up until this point at least) strictly for NES games, but I think the whole Nintendo community would insanely appreciate it if Nintendo added Earthbound to the collection of classic games! Earthbound is such a beloved masterpiece that I wouldn't even be surprised if some people decided to join Nintendo online just so they can play Earthbound on their switch!
