World health experts have an important message for parents: make sure your daughter gets the HPV vaccine.The vaccine helps protect girls against a virus that causes cervical cancer, the fourth most common cancer in women.

In Nigeria, cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women accounting for about 26 deaths each day.

We can change these dismal statistics. Let's implore the Federal Ministry of Health of Nigeria to include the HPV vaccine into the country's routine immunisation programme.
