Respected Colleague, When we started this petition against the NBA's selective justice some thought it's a waste of time. But with your support in signing the petition, we were able to mobilize and galvanise support across the country. On 23th and 24th August, 2020 we delivered both soft and hard-copies of our petitions to Mr Paul Usoro, the NBA President (now former), Mr Koyinsola Ajayi, the TCCP Chairman, Mr Olisa Agbakoba, the Chairman NBA Board Trustees, Mr Olumide Akpata (now the new NBA President) Prof. Ibrahim Abikan, MULAN President, CLASFON President, NACL, as well as FIDA. Our petition contained verifiable facts that any lover of rule of law and justice should be concerned the TCCP Chairman had to even admit this fact. In his reply to our petition, the TCCP Chairman, Mr. Koyinsola Ajayi, said: "Dear Sirs, Your mail below refers. They raise substantial concerns for lawyers interested in justice in our society. Nigeria is 60 and the Bar is in its 60th year of annual conferencing. Let us together step forward in making the Bar and Nigeria better, while prompt action is taking on getting the Report on which you rely so it may be read in conjunction with your petition in meeting your objective." Our petition would later force a public discourse on the proprietary or otherwise or what the NBA did. It generated so much interest and concerns that it eventually led to a national conversation. This sent a strong message to the leadership of the NBA and the people concerned. This perhaps explained why the duo of former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Governor Nyesom Wike could not bear the courage to appear in person to speak at the conference. Like we have always stated, we're not against anyone and we're not fighting anybody. What we are speaking against is the selective justice which we believe is itself an injustice. We appreciate everyone's support. The time you spent in signing this petition was never a waste. You spoke out against the ugly selectivism and your voice was heard loud and clear. There are many more fights to fight and there are many more injustices that we need to speak out against. We do hope that when the time comes to speak out again against any form of injustice in the future we can count on your support. Thank you for your time. Yours faithfully in the promotion and protection of rule of law. Kazeem Oyinwola Convener, Justice Concerned Lawyer's Forum.
