My name is Isabelle Lu. I am reaching out on behalf of the Bayside community. My father was struck by a car on Monday on 46 ave and 215 place. Please refer to link below for story. He is in the ICU.

This particular ave (46 ave) spans from Springfield Blvd to Bell Blvd. There is not a single stop sign, speed bump, cross walks or anything for a span of 6 or so blocks. Cars are constantly speeding down the Avenue. 

Additionally, on Bell Blvd and 46 ave, there is an elementary school (PS 31), and a middle school up the block (MS 158). Many of the students who are zoned for those 2 schools also walk home along 46 ave. 

I am certain that my father's unfortunate incident is not the first to occur on 46 ave. Some type of preventive measures have to be taken to prevent any more future incidents as such as the one that happened to my own father and for the residents that live along this avenue in our Bayside community. 

Please, do not let it take a death before we do something. I am trying my best to advocate for my neighborhood but it is very difficult when I am a single voice. This is why I am seeking your help. Please sign the petition!
