Doula support allowed at the St. Catharines Hospital!

I received a response from the president of Niagara Health this morning! I couldn’t be happier that doulas are allowed back into the St. Catharines Hospital to support Niagara families. Thank you to everyone for all your support and who signed/shared my petition!

“Hello Hollie, I had a chance to discuss this with the executive team this morning and we all agree that, where women have chosen to engage with a doula, the doula is an important member of her healthcare team. We are therefore changing our current policy so that a woman giving birth can have her doula and her partner/significant other with her during her stay. This is effective immediately.

Again, thank you for drawing this to my attention, it had not come up in our prior discussions and it was never our intent to exclude doulas. And thank you for advocating for women!”
