Last week, the Mayor for the City of St. Catharines, Walter Sendzik recognized the efforts of the students from Lockview and Harriet Tubman for their successful bid to get an interpretive panel marking the only site where Harriet Tubman brought freedom-seekers to Canada. He paid tribute to their efforts ( letter writing campaign, posters and petition on Change.org as well as a formal multimedia presentation to the Niagara Parks Commission) to make the panel a reality.
