Following on from my update a couple of weeks ago, Scott and I met with our MP Matthew Pennycook last week. He was very supportive and keen to make progress on preventing group B Strep infections in babies. We discussed this fabulous petition, and he was rightly impressed with how many people have signed it. We also spoke about a new UK Parliament petition calling for a change for the better in combatting GBS. That petition needs 100,000 signatures for our issue to be considered for debate in the House of Commons. Please, please, please just as you took the time to sign here, go to the link below and sign that petition too. Its goals are very similar – it’s “asking for the implementation of a consistent and accurate screening and education policy, to be provided to all health care professionals responsible for pregnant women during antenatal care, to prevent life threatening group B Streptococcus infections in pregnancy and birth." Please sign, and share with everyone you know and, once again, thank you for your amazing support. The momentum you have helped create is truly awesome and I really want to see our MPs give the time this incredibly important issue deserves in Parliament. Thank you Fiona
