You may be aware that in March this year Simon Stevens, Chief Executive of NHS England announced a major review of maternity services as part of the NHS Five Year Forward View, which sets out a vision for the future of the NHS. The review is being independently chaired by Baroness Julia Cumberlege. The review will assess current maternity care provision and consider how services should be developed to meet the changing needs of women and babies. Reviews like this can be very important in making changes that are desperately needed to help mums and babies receiving the care they need.
