Yesterday I had my postponed meeting with my local MP for East Devon Simon Jupp and it was very positive. Simon is very keen to support myself and is going to write to the Department for Health and the Clinical Commissioning Groups and ask for a meeting. He was very interested in the fact that I have found out from my cousin’s friend who lives in Richmond that the age for routine mammograms is actually 45 in Richmond!! If anyone else from around the country reading this has an age lower than 50 currently for their local NHS hospitals for routine mammograms, or any useful information to share please could you contact myself? The more information we can gather the more ammunition we have.
The only concern he does have is the deliverability of this change with the current backlog hospitals have due to covid. I really hope we can convince the Department for Health to listen to us and hope to at least meet with them. With the amount of signatures we have shows the huge amount of public support for this.
