Just passing to let you all know a a few things.
First great News after a long while now I have been trying to have a meeting with the minister of health.
It’s now happening. I and another mum the wonderful Isabelle Garnett together with Mencap And CBF The challenge Behaviour Foundation/ and by the way talk of CBF if you can support this wonderful small charity , who actually do not get any money from the government, unlike so many other big charities who get a lot of founding from local and central governments, they need any penny that you can spare. If all my followers could give a £1 that would make a huge difference to this wonderful small organisation that has so little resources, and they work so hard to help families with children with challenging behaviour. Anyway as I was saying going to meet with the minister Matt Hancock.
We have a few things to tell him.
Next will be , see if I can meet with the other minister Nadhim Zahawi. The parliamentary Under Secretary Of State for Children And Families.
Its important that we keep the pressure.and momentum up, about good care in all sectors. Especially in light of what just happened yesterday. The situation with a care home company the Four seasons care homes.
And not to mention the statements given by The horrible St Andrew’s hospital Northampton where Ste was at , and suffered horrendous abuse, this weekend, the CEO give an interview to the Sunday express that made me want to puke.
Full of self deprecating and blaming the system, one can only view this cynically , they are in trouble and they know it, so they decided to pathetically excuse themselves so lamely by stating it’s the local authorities that put people there because they haven’t or are unwilling to put community placements in place, but hey maybe that is true , but I don’t see St Andrew’s Telling Local CCGs no sorry we don’t want your £15:500 a week, please use that £15:500 and help to put it the community, put it towards families to employ staff to help them in their own homes, no they aren’t turning them way.
They build a £350 million institution on the grounds of st Andrew’s so they could take in children as young as 8. So no thank you st Andrew’s we really don’t want your garbage and pathetic arguments to excuses the mental physical verbal and chemical abuses that goes on inside your filthy prison like institutions.
So this meeting will be crucial to get an informed acknowledgment of what if any the government has in place, because the transforming care date was 31 of March and now they have added 5 years to the last 7 since the winterbourne view.
Its scandalous, a national scandal and a very very dirty secret that is going on behind the scenes of those institutions of systemic abuse.
And the government NHSE broke their promises time and time again for closing down those beds, in those mental institutions, we should be 5 years in at at least 50 per cent closures.
But in reality we are maybe at 15 per cent, contrary to what the government said on the live show of Victoria Derbyshire back in February, that I was on and she just lied she said over 20 per cent, and than had the Audacity to say families tells her not to close those institutions, who in gods name would want those places for their children?
i just wish that she could put one of her children there for 24 hours.
Many of them 24 hours then they would know what’s it like for my family my son especially, and of those 2:500 families that are still struggling.
My two dear friends for instance. Pam and Roy Hickmott, their son have been in 3 different institutions for 21 years. Parents are in their late 70s and early 80s. Their beloved son is 42 years old.
18 of those in one institution. One that is run by the ones I mentioned above.
120 miles way. 240 miles round trip that Dear Roy makes. He drives.
Then there’s my other dear Friends.
Moya and Michael Verrion.
Their beloved son have been in a 110 institutions around the country. Last one the dreaded st Andrew’s currently there nearly two years, wait till I tell you he’s story.
Micheal is 81 years old.
Moya is 75 years old.
Their son way from them 150 miles way 300 hundred miles round trip.
Parents were displaced as parents, get this why? Because they complained to much. One might say wtf system that displaced parents, because they are concerned for their child? Protecting their son!! Now one of the harrowing situation is that Their Son Mark is now disabled, he is bed ridden, he lays in that bed 24/7 or in a wheelchair if he is lucky that is, why? Because he has a broken hip now 19 months. And st Andrew’s That Hospital that says we are a charity run and we are a caring hospital, we care for all of our patients, what a crock that is.
They have refused treatment for Mark. Due to the parents persistence they got a surgeon in their local area to do a hip replacement, he was ready to be transferred to have that operation, and st Andrew’s who think are God’s, decided against the negotiations that had going on, and stopped that happening.
Now stating they will get Mark to go to the general Northampton hospital to get him in the waiting list, now you know how long that will take right ?Another 18 months of longer, if Mark was an old person and living in the community with a broken hip in bed 24/7 because he can’t move, there would be an absolute outcry and that person would have been treated, and quite rightly so.
But this man is autistic, suffers from depression, and is considered to be of no value to the community, he does not matter, well guess what he matters very much. He matters to he’s beloved parents. And he matters to me. So my darling friends. If you can write a letter to Matt Hancock. And to st Andrew’s. As well as to Chief executive of NHSE Simon Stevens. And to Chief nursing of NHSE and transforming care, Ray James. They are based at London elephant and castle.
Please google it you will find it.
Matt Hancock you find him at 10 Downing st.
Or Westminster House of Commons. Best there.
Please let’s get help for these families.
Next post I have an anonymous family I want you to help. I can’t name them because of court orders.
But they need all our help.
They will need lawyers that can do all the work for free.
They no longer can afford the lawyers. While the abusers get lawyers paid by the state and all their reports.
This family needs now to find £4,000 to pay for reports. It’s now the 5th time they have been taken to court. It’s an absolute disgrace.
I will soon do an update and ask you to help. Please.
God bless you all.
Leo.
