The Therapeutic Community is based in Aspatria and has been running for 10 years. It is part of the Psychotherapy Service and mainly takes on service users with a personality disorder (eg Borderline Personality Disorder). In November of last year, we were told that the TC would be closed from May 2015. We have been told is to due to a lack of funding, and no information has been made available on any replacement treatments. This has impacted on the therapy of current service users, and has left at least 60 people on a waiting list with no idea of what, if any, treatment they can hope to receive.
