Exciting News

You may or may not be aware of the talks between Etihad Stadium officials and the NCAA in regards to bringing a College Bowl game to Melbourne. December 2016 is looking more likely. This is great news for College Football fans but more importantly, if it's a success it can only bring us one step closer to seeing a regular season NFL game here as well. In saying that, it leads me to more exciting news that I will be directly involved with. The guy who brought us the International Ice Hockey series is doing something bigger. He is bringing 2 of the most recognised teams in NFL history to New Zealand for an exhibition series in March 2016. The success of this will determine whether it comes to Australia as well. Now, before you start getting excited you need to understand that the 1st and 2nd string players will most likely not participate (unless they are a freeagent) so each team will consist of practice squad and players from development leagues in the USA. However, i am aware that they are targeting one very very big name to be a captain of one team, which opens up the possibility for more. The official announcement will be made on June 3rd. The dates are 5th March at Eden Park Auckland and 12th March Westpac Stadium Wellington. Travel packages will be made available. Ticket prices will range from $59 to $99. I have not released the team names in question but i will release the identity of one of them on the facebook page in the next few weeks. Get excited as this could be the stepping stone to finally getting what we want. Regards, Scott. NFLINAUSTRALIA@YAHOO.COM.AU
