Thank you so much for signing this petition. In the next week we are going to begin a media campaign. Every day we're receiving more advice that people are finding illegal fishers inside the park. We have talked to VFA in the recent past but it's clear that enforcement and fines is not the solution. 

Our demands are simple. A buffer zone around the park to ensure its values are properly protected. 

In my next update I will tell you more about significant changes in Victorian policy that will start to make it imperative that VFA takes into consideration your needs and values. Already under the Fisheries Act, they are required:

(d) to facilitate access to fisheries resources for commercial, recreational, traditional and non-consumptive uses;

Non-consumptive means use of fish that is not associated with killing. VFA does not currently consult with anyone except for one specific fishing lobby group.
