We the Undersigned call on the Newcastle Knights to remove Wayne Bennett from his position as Knights coach immediately.  

Wayne Bennett was a very successful coach with the Brisbane Broncos in the 1990's, 2000's and even 2010 with the St George Illawarra Dragons but his coaching techniques and strategies are severely outdated as the game has now changed and it just DOES NOT WORK here in the heart of the Hunter. Most of our players are just too old now and they lack desire playing every week due to their recent inconsistency (Gidley, Houston, Boyd, Roberts for example).

The off season dramas wrecked the pre season which included Russell Packer's assault charge and eventual sacking, Willie Mason's DUI, Dane Gagai kicked out of the QLD Emerging squad and the onfield and off field dramas as well such as Alex McKinnon's career ended in round 3 after a dangerous tackle by Storm Forward Jordan McLean which left McKinnon with a massive spinal injury and Zane Tetevano getting sacked from the Knights breaking a window of a taxi in Charlestown after arguing with his girlfriend when he was charged with an AVO earlier this year and former owner, Nathan Tinkler not paying the players and staff and sending them offensive text messages and It would be ugly if Bennett, an experienced coach was to miss out on the finals twice in three years, This is for a reason.

In 2013 after a disasterous 12th place finish the previous year we were seventh on the ladder and were one match short of making the 2013 grand final when we were eliminated by the eventual premiers, the Sydney Roosters, But now 8 months later,

The Knights are anchored to the bottom of the latter with two wins and 8 losses which is nearing the worst start of the Knights season since 2005 and with many decisions in the land of Rugby League. We Knights fans deserve better and it's time for change.
