Update

Thank you for all of your support in getting the petition to over 200 signatures. 

We left a message with Sharon’s office on Wednesday and are yet to get a response. 

Looking at Sharon Claydon’s speeches and talks regarding Israel’s war on Palestine she speaks about: -Newcastle’s efforts to secure lasting peace
-Her website quotes that she is passionate about ‘ensuring we leave a better world for the next generation’
-The devastation of the loss of innocent lives
-That every attack on innocent civilians is a breach of international law and that the international community will not accept more civilian deaths.

This is a great starting point but as you know we are already in day 48 of this horrific war on Palestine. We need Sharon to do more. We’re asking her to stand up and say NO MORE to the violence and injustice being inflicted upon the people of Gaza and occupied Palestine. It is crucial that she uses her position of power and influence to advocate for a permanent ceasefire, an end to Israel's war crimes, and the lifting of the illegal siege on Gaza.

By taking a strong stance against Israel's actions, she can send a powerful message that Australia stands for justice and human rights.
