Woolsington has once again graced - or should that be disgraced - the pages of Private Eye.
Nooks and Corners (pg 21) of the latest issue relays the recent decision to allow Newcastle City Council to have the final say on the ‘scandalous case’ and questions whether it is acceptable if a local authority is ‘philistine, irresponsible, blinkered and in the pocket of commercial interests’.
We are still awaiting a response to our letter to Catherine McKinnell about the recent Woolsington decision.
We have written to the National Planning Casework Unit questioning its decision to allow Newcastle City Council to have the final say on the applications, which generated national concern.
In the mean time you may wish to write to the project case officer in charge of the application at the NPCU fiona.hobbs@communities.gsi.gov.uk in support of our request for further information on how this unjust and nationally outrageous decision was made.
