The latest edition of Private Eye, the satirical current affairs magazine with a penchant for exposing public bodies and figures for their incompetence, inefficiency or corruption, has covered the Woolsington Hall fiasco.
It will be interesting to see how many members of Newcastle City Council’s planning committee – who have been advised by planning officers to approve the plans at the committee meeting next week – will vote in favour of the outrageous scheme, following such exposure in this whistleblowing, national publication.
You can read the article in ‘Nooks and Corners’ on page 22 of the current issue of Private Eye.
Anyone attending the meeting on Tuesday 1st November may wish to brandish a copy!
Meanwhile the Chronicle has reported that the Woolsington Hall restoration is ‘progressing well’ and that Cameron Hall Developments Ltd is prospering financially.
