Thanks to many kind contributions, Save Newcastle Wildlife crowd funded over £1,000 last year in a bid to save Woolsington Hall so that the controversial enabling development – which would see the destruction of Woolsington Woods – would not be needed. Since then, the financial position of the property has changed dramatically due to the devastating fire on December 29th 2015. This has raised complex legal and planning issues, which are as yet, unresolved. In the meantime, the money raised remains protected and a decision as to the best use of the funds will be made when the future of the property and woodland is clearer.
