Assembly Bill A7710A and related Senate Bill S9419 have passed the New York State Senate and Assembly on June 1, 2022. New rules related to the taking of horseshoe crabs will be sent to New York Governor Kathy Hochul to be signed or vetoed. Please contact Governor Hochul to urge her to sign A7710A into law. If passed, the law will provide minimum and maximum size limits, open and closed seasons including lunar closures, and a prohibition on the harvest of horseshoe crabs during their mating season in May & June.
