Use the Pledge Drive to Send a Message to WNYC

WNYC’s pledge drive starts tomorrow, Monday, February 26. Contacting the station during the drive is the best way to send a message about the unjust firing of Leonard Lopate and management’s steadfast refusal to explain it.
Call 1-888-376-9692 during the drive, and/or write WNYC’s Membership Department here: https://nypublicradio.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/categories/202586738-Contact-Membership
As our petition states, “Many of us have suspended our donations to WNYC until this matter is resolved in a way that is fair to all, including the accused and his many thousands of devoted listeners. “ Even if you have already canceled your membership or are unwilling to pull the plug entirely, it’s important to let the station know how you feel about its shameful treatment of Leonard Lopate. A great time to call would be during the “Midday” show, management’s feeble attempt to replace The Leonard Lopate Show weekdays from 12-2 pm.
The recent New York Times article on the public radio firings reported that 577 people canceled their memberships in December alone, citing the news about Lopate and fellow fired host Jonathan Schwartz. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/18/business/media/public-radio-metoo-harassment.html Two months later, this figure has no doubt grown much larger.
That number again is 1-888-376-9692.
