Dear Friend,

We are asking that you stand in solidarity for a rally with the Stop False Police Reporting Group, the Martin Luther King Jr Democratic Club, and the National Action Network on Sunday April 11, 2021 on 1 Police Plaza, at 1pm sharp.

The overall goal of this rally is fivefold:

1. To  request support from the police commissioner and lawmakers to improve relations between constituents and law enforcement, as well as improving relations within the police department by ending the practice of false police reporting (by officers and civilians).
2. To boost morale of officers, so that in turn they are emotionally healthier when protecting the city.
3. To increase oversight in the district attorney offices and ensure that conviction integrity units are active.
4. To modify the current appeal and 440 process so that individuals who have experienced wrongful incarceration (in non-DNA cases) can have a fair opportunity for justice.
5. To make amendments to the current false reporting bill: Senate Bill S8492; Assembly Bill A1531B
