All of us are eager to find out how the chimpanzees are doing. To help all of us stay in touch, a dedicated Facebook page will now provide updates on this amazing group of chimpanzees including Bullet the resilient one-armed alpha male, Mabel a sweet lady who protects younger chimps from danger, and Etti the caring mother who is always willing to share food with her daughter and the other infants. What a delight it will be to continue learning about their personalities and love for their caretakers even after they have endured so much. Our new Facebook page is also where you can follow and continue participating in our progress toward pressuring the New York Blood Center to end their cruelty and reinstate funding for the chimps: www.facebook.com/abandonedchimps Currently it is only through your compassion and support that the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) led coalition has ended the suffering caused by the irresponsible behavior of NYBC. Together we have made sure the chimpanzees have the food, water, and healthcare they deserve. We responded to the emergency together and now it is time to find a lasting solution.
