Large, unbroken habitat, is critical to the success of our native wildlife. Off-road vehicle races burn scars into the landscape which never heal because of continuous illegal use. Near-constant spring and summer time traffic on these paths it makes it harder for wildlife to successfully travel, hunt, and reproduce on the land that is been their home for thousands of years. Direct mortality (being run over by vehicles) of threatened wildlife has been observed and documented on these illegal and poorly planned paths. Now, NJDEP is allowing these dirtbike races through the forest on State Land at a great cost to native species. Please tell them to stop this abusive practice.
