I am so pleased to be able to tell you - and to THANK YOU ALL OVER AGAIN  for - THIS: The meeting of authorities on 20th January agreed universally to go forward with the feasibility, and to fund it. The official news release is below, it's a bit dry but actually very exciting.

This comes at the same time as changes in the Highway Code are to be confirmed which will include a hierarchy of road users placing the most vulnerable at the very top. Drivers will be expected to pass horses - whether ridden or not - at a speed of no more than 10 miles per hour and a distance of no less than 2 metres*. These specifically include semi-feral ponies on places such as the New Forest, Exmoor and Dartmoor. Whilst not law, failure to adhere to advice given in the Highway Code will be taken into account when deciding culpability in road traffic collisions. (*These limits to be confirmed this weekend).
