Local News Gets Behind Petition

Llanelli Star, Llanelli Online and Llanelli Herald have now all got behind the petition for a Station at Parc Trostre. Llanelli AM, Lee Waters, is fully supporting the calls for the new railway station. “This is another example of where we are building big new infrastructure and not thinking about how people are going to travel,” he said. “Out-of-town developments not only kill off town centres but generate huge amounts of traffic, and now we are paying the price. “The fact that Parc Trostre Retail Park was built without bus stops shows how little thought the council gave to public transport - this kind of development should’ve been built close to a rail and bus station. “I fully support the idea behind this petition but a detailed feasibility study is needed to decide the best solution.
