On December 17th, 1982, Jim Henson's The Dark Crystal was released in American theaters, and for forty long years, it has remained an endearing cult classic beloved by many. It was through the efforts of Jim Henson, Frank Oz, Brian Froud, and hundreds of other talented artists and puppeteers that brought this remarkable story to life.

The Dark Crystal remains a staple in popular culture for its unique world, story, and visuals which revolutionized the world of practical effects. It inspired a whole generation of future artists and storytellers and continues to inspire the minds of creatives to this day.

It has garnered tie-in comics, novels, and an unfortunately short-lived prequel series, which is what this petition is focused on reviving.
