Steve Blackman - Statement

We are aware that the show runner has not only commented on this now, but is also Jewish. We have both talked it over and we agree that this was not an apology, this was a rebuttal. It’s irrelevant if Steve Blackman is Jewish or not. It’s his and Netflix’s responsibility not to marginalise a minority group and to acknowledge and apologise if people are offended by their content.

To clarify, we are not calling for the cancellation of The Umbrella Academy, we are just calling for an apology.
