Today Nestlé Toll House Café by Chip locations nationwide are scooping out Edy’s ice cream sandwiches for just $2 in celebration of the holiday. Yet the cows languishing behind Nestlé’s ice cream products are paying a much greater price: their lives.

Thanks to the more than 20,000 of you who have spoken up against Nestlé’s cruelty since our shocking investigation, the food giant has announced plans to debut an array of vegan meats! And just this week, Nestlé CEO Mark Schneider stated to investors, “I just wanted you to know that we have the ambition and the perseverance to be a major player in [the plant-based] area. Initial results and growth rates are very encouraging, and we see all the elements of a significant long-term trend in the market.”

Yet the company is still stagnating when it comes to churning out vegan options for its dairy brands--despite the egregious abuse COK exposed, including bloody hoof trimming and hot irons being burned into calves’ flesh to permanently destroy their horns and growth tissue in a cruel process known as “dehorning” or “disbudding.” 

It’s time for Nestlé, the world’s largest food and dairy company, to implement immediate systemic changes to push the dairy industry forward by eliminating cruel horn removal for its products once and for all--and to shift its dairy lines toward compassionate vegan options.
