The "report" from the developer simply states that they have looked up on a map and the land area isn't big enough to be a working farm and so there are no reverse sensitivities at all. There was no visit to the farm or contact with the family to assess its working nature.
Our accountant, stock agent, NZ Beef and Lamb and Country Calendar disagree. The last 100 years of this land has been farmed between 2 families. It is 1 of 2 working farms left close to Nelson city. If the proposed development goes ahead it will not only cause irreparable destruction to the conservation area, it will also mean the loss of our families ability to farm the land and the loss of our livelihood.
Our working farm and conservation area are featuring on Country Calendar on 22nd November.
