I’ve been spending a lot of time reflecting on where we go from here and think I’ve come up with two ways to continue our movement to save Booksellers going into the future. Currently, I’m debating having another Support Booksellers day in the future and I’ll let you guys know what I decide soon.
1. Waiting
This might the hardest thing that we can do, but it might also be the most important thing that we can do. The effects from the February 15th will not be immediately available and, thus, we must wait to see how the Booksellers’ situation plays out. Ultimately, we don’t hold the pen that could sign a new lease on the property where Booksellers is located, but we do have one arm of leverage: we are the customers. Any potential investors will want to gauge how much interest there is in a store and its potential for growth; thus, we cannot let up on our support for Booksellers, which leads me to my next point.
2. Continue to show your support
It’s imperative that we continue to show our support for Booksellers. The easiest way for everyone to do that will be through social media. As a challenge, I’d like to encourage EVERYONE to post something whether it be on their Facebook page, Twitter page, etc. every other day. It can be as simple as “I love Booksellers” or something much longer. Be sure to #MemphisGetsLit so we can see all of your wonderful posts. Keep up the support everyone and don’t lose hope!
More info soon…
