Good evening everyone! First, I'd like to thank JoAnne O’Brien Scott of Cordova for her fond memories of Booksellers (link below this post). Her touching memories are what saving Booksellers is all about. It means something special to everyone who's ever visited and it would be devastating to lose the source of these warm memories. While Booksellers has asked me to postpone fundraising money because of the murky future set for Booksellers, I like to think optimistically. So, instead of fundraising money for keeping Booksellers open, I'd like to fundraise money for after Booksellers (hopefully) gets to remain open. Wait, what? Why do we need to fundraise money after Booksellers (hopefully) gets to stay open. I want to always remember the rallying of community that helped propel this petition into the news and Booksellers into the minds of many investors. So, I want to fundraise money to put in a memorial, sculpture, or a memento of some sort to keep in Booksellers if they stay open to remember this movement. I'm not sure exactly what we should fundraise for, so if you have any ideas, please let me know at (savebooksellers@gmail.com) or in the comments below. I will open up a fundraiser as we get closer to seeing a more concrete future for Booksellers. Also, I will be out of town for the rest of the week and will be unavailable to post updates so… my book-loving friend and fellow WSHS student, Sydney Prather, will be taking over for the rest of the week. She loves books and Booksellers just as much as I do and I hope you'll treat her just as warmly as you have treated me. Remember #MemphisGetsLit, Emmett Miskell
