My 1,000km walk for freedom starts in less than a week, on 1 August. It’s a long way to walk, but after a decade of uncertainty I have to do something to help refugees like me to be seen and be heard. I hope the Prime Minister will meet with me to accept our petition calling for fairness for refugees who’ve lived here more than a decade.

Can you chip in to my crowdfunder so my volunteer team can help make my 1000km walk a success?

If you have already chipped in to the crowdfunder - thank you. I am doing this walk on a shoestring budget with the help of volunteers from Ballaarat to Sydney.

Right now, they are busy helping me prepare for the walk, ensuring supplies along the route and getting the word out to supporters. I call this volunteer team our "angels" and I can't do this walk without them, or you.

A special thanks to all the Rural Australians for Refugees and others who have already volunteered to provide accomodation and support vehicles along the way.

If you would like to chip in, your donation could help equip me with lightweight gear, first aid and snake bite kits, high energy food, battery packs, fuel for support vehicles and other practical needs that could arise during my walk.

Thank you again to everyone who has already contributed to the crowdfunder.

Any left over funds which aren’t needed to support my walk will be donated to VICSES Ballaarat Unit, where I have volunteered for the last eight years.

Thank you,

Neil Para
